General Manager / President – Roofing

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A growing roofing contractor is seeking an experienced General Manager/President to lead all day-to-day operations and drive the company's next stage of growth. This is a high-accountability leadership role for a professional who can move fluidly between big-picture strategy and hands-on involvement in the field — a true operator who thinks and acts like an owner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and growth of the company, overseeing operations, estimating, project management, financial performance, and team leadership, while also shaping long-term strategy alongside ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Oversee daily operations across sales, production, estimating, project management, and administration. Ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.
Strategy & Growth Develop and execute annual business plans and revenue targets. Identify new market opportunities and build strategic relationships with suppliers, insurance adjusters, builders, and property managers.
Estimating & Project Management Review and approve estimates and proposals, ensure accurate takeoffs and pricing, and oversee scheduling, permitting, and procurement. Serve as the escalation point for project issues and change orders.
Financial Management Own the company P&L, manage budgets and cash flow, and track key performance indicators such as revenue, margin, close rate, and production efficiency.
Team Leadership Recruit, hire, train, and develop office staff, estimators, project managers, and field crews. Build a culture of accountability, safety, and performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in roofing or construction, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Proven experience in estimating and project management for roofing or construction projects
- A track record of driving revenue growth and improving profitability
- Strong understanding of construction financials, including job costing, budgeting, and P&L management
- Working knowledge of roofing systems and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with estimating and CRM software is a plus
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
