Application Development Food & Beverage Manager
My client is looking to expand their team in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
Responsibilities include:
- Through demonstrated technical leadership drive the development of new industrial gas applications for the Food Freezing, Chilling and Beverage markets
- Safety Leadership: Drive the Messer Americas safety agenda throughout the development process to ensure the company operates in a manner that is safe for our employees, customers and public
- Lead the application development program responsible for developing a platform of technologies/solutions for customers in the Food and Beverage sectors
- Maintain deep market and customer insight and connection to drive a robust ideation process for development
- Work in a collaborative, team environment to execute new and ongoing technology development projects
- Prepare performance specifications and project plans for new application process and equipment. Support engineering of new application hardware
- Prepare patents or adapt other ways to protect new ideas
- Work closely with counterparts in technical sales support to deliver new application related New Business and the overall Messer Americas growth plan
- Provides technical recommendations and supporting statements in marketing documentation and exhibits
- Prepare articles and papers for technical journals. Provides effective support at customer symposia, congresses / specialist conferences
- Conducts training for product implementation to sales staff
- Shares innovative and updated information of product and market to R&D groups
- Suggests new business concepts to optimize business model
- Provide technical leadership to support customer opportunities by demonstrating deep understanding of customer processes and the technologies Messer offers
- Assures the attraction, hiring, development and retention of skilled development engineering professionals to drive the development activities in collaboration with Human Resource Business Partner and practices
- Lead high performing team
Qualified candidates should have a background in the following:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Preferred
- Minimum 10 Years experience with demonstrated record of developing new application technologies with market success.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with processes used in the Food Freezing, Chilling and Beverage industries.
- Strong technical background in Cryogenic processes, thermodynamics, heat transfer; industrial equipment and process development
- Ability to recognize opportunities for developing new applications and building organizational support
- Business Acumen, fundamental understanding of business cases, delivery of new product development and it’s economic impact.
- Strong leadership skills and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of processes used in the Food Freezing, Chilling and Beverage industries.
- Significant project experience, and academic background, in Cryogenic application technology, equipment fabrication and thermal engineering.
- Experienced at working in a collaborative team environment, as well as providing technical leadership
- Proven record of recognizing and developing rough concepts into successful new product introductions.
