**Rapidly growing California-based General Contractor looking for a Superintendent for high-end retail and/or Commercial Interiors Projects**

The superintendent's job is to run the day-to-day operations on the construction site and control the short-term schedule. The role of the superintendent also includes important quality control and subcontractor coordination responsibilities. The project manager and superintendent need to cooperate and share control effectively. Superintendents are stationed on the construction site.

We are looking for a superintendent with 10+ years’ experience in high-end retail and/or commercial construction. Candidate must possess the skillset required to manage the project from start to finish, including all trades. Must have extensive knowledge of current code, including local municipalities. Must understand the complexities of current building practices and planning. Candidate must have knowledge of Procore and be able to use a computer and programs with moderate to excellent ability.

Description

  • Fully understand all subcontracts, drawings and specifications.
  • Enforce safety initiatives to ensure OSHA safety standards are met and/or exceeded.
  • Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns and other project specific issues.
  • Review the daily progress of work completed and deliver daily reports to the project team.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with owners, on-site staff, subcontractors and other key personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain all documentation to ensure project is delivered on-time and within budget.
  • Meet weekly and communicate daily with subcontractors to assess project progress, scheduling, changes and deliveries.
  • Work evening and nights as required.

Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in the commercial/retail tenant improvement construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to coordinate with subcontractors, owners and consultants.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects on budget and on time.
  • Proven track record of controlling and minimizing punch lists.
