Structural Bridge Project Manager – Central NJ
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and transportation-related structural projects across Central New Jersey. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a client-facing, leadership-oriented position and wants to contribute to high-impact infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee structural design projects including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and transportation structures.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring quality deliverables, schedule adherence, and budget control.
- Coordinate with NJDOT, NJTA, county agencies, and municipal clients on project requirements, reviews, and approvals.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, design plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits, structural evaluations, inspections, and condition assessments.
- Guide junior engineers through technical development, design tasks, and QA/QC processes.
- Manage client communication, proposal development, contract negotiations, and project forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD, NJDOT standards, and applicable codes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NJ or ability to obtain quickly.
- 8+ years of progressive bridge/structural design experience.
- Strong proficiency with structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, LARSA, LEAP Bridge, MDX) and MicroStation/AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience managing transportation infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior work with NJDOT/NJTA projects.
- Experience with load ratings, accelerated bridge construction, or complex structures.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and construction-phase services.
