Building Maintenance Technician - (Roving) $25-28/hr - Property Management Group Chester/Montgomery County, Pa
Key Responsibilities

Tenant and Customer-Facing Repairs: Promptly and professionally respond to maintenance requests from office tenants, retail store managers, and customers. This includes addressing issues with plumbing (e.g., clogged toilets, leaky faucets), electrical systems (e.g., lighting outages, faulty outlets), and HVAC systems.

Building Systems Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the complex systems that power commercial buildings. This includes inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems (boilers, chillers, air handlers), fire suppression systems, and electrical distribution panels.

Aesthetic Upkeep: Maintain the visual appeal of the building's common areas. This involves tasks such as repairing drywall and plaster, painting, replacing ceiling tiles, and ensuring common spaces like lobbies, restrooms, and corridors are clean and well-maintained.

Grounds and Exterior Maintenance: Work on the building's exterior, including minor repairs to the roof, sidewalks, and parking lots. This can also include tasks like snow removal, landscaping, and ensuring all outdoor lighting is functioning and safe.

Work Order Management: Use a work order system to track, prioritize, and document all maintenance tasks and repairs. This ensures issues are addressed efficiently and creates a record of all work performed.

Emergency Response: Be available for on-call duties to respond to after-hours emergencies, such as power outages, burst water pipes, or security system failures, to minimize disruption to tenants and customers.
Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise: A strong, multi-faceted skill set is essential. This includes proven experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs, as well as general carpentry and painting. The ability to read blueprints and technical manuals is a plus.

Professionalism and Communication: Given the public-facing nature of the role, a professional demeanor is crucial. You must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with tenants, store employees, and visitors, explaining the nature of the problem and the steps taken to fix it.

Problem-Solving: The ability to quickly and accurately diagnose problems in a fast-paced environment is critical. You must be able to work independently to find and fix the root cause of an issue.
