Legal Recruiting Specialist -  Law Firm - $70-80k - Hybrid schedule - In office 1-2 days per week

 

Our growing law firm client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Recruiting Specialist to join their Resources team. The Recruiting Specialist will play a crucial role in attracting, engaging, and hiring top legal talent to support the firm's continued growth and success. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of the legal industry and talent acquisition best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle recruitment process for various legal positions, including associates, counsel, and potentially partners, as well as professional staff roles as needed.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and department leaders to understand their hiring needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, and create compelling job descriptions.
  • Source and identify qualified candidates through various channels, including online job boards, professional networking sites (e.g., LinkedIn), law school career services, search firms, employee referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Screen resumes and applications to assess candidate qualifications and fit for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings and interviews to evaluate candidate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient interview process for both candidates and interviewers.
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from interviewers and provide timely updates to candidates.
  • Manage the candidate communication process, ensuring a positive and professional candidate experience.
  • Prepare and extend offer letters, negotiate compensation packages, and manage the onboarding process in collaboration with HR and other relevant departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with law school career services offices, legal professional organizations, and search firms.
  • Organize and participate in recruiting events, such as law school career fairs, on-campus interviews, and firm receptions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, and recommend improvements.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in legal recruiting and the legal industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assist with other HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in legal recruiting, preferably within a law firm environment.
  • Proven success in managing the full lifecycle recruitment process.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry, legal roles, and the competitive landscape for legal talent.
  • Excellent sourcing and networking skills with the ability to identify and attract top legal professionals.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other HR technology.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proactive and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
