Revenue Accountant - Oil & Gas (Houston, TX)

About Us

Liberty Personnel is partnered with a mid-sized oil & gas exploration and production company headquartered in Houston, Texas. We are committed to excellence in everything we do, and our revenue accounting team plays a critical role in our success. We are searching for a talented and motivated Revenue Accountant to join our growing department.

Responsibilities

  • Record oil & gas production revenue for operated and non-operated properties, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP.
  • Analyze and reconcile volume and pricing data to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue allocations for working interests and royalty interests.
  • Manage and process invoices related to oil & gas sales.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in the monthly close process and prepare timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and accounting standards related to oil & gas revenue recognition.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., Land, Production, Marketing) to ensure efficient revenue accounting processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-10 years of experience in oil & gas revenue accounting, or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas accounting principles, including ASC 606.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced skills in formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
  • Experience with oil & gas accounting software (e.g., OGSYS, JDE) a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
