CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATORS - RETAIL CONSTRUCTION
Overview: The Estimator is responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates by analyzing proposals, documents, and requirements for construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints and technical documents.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as time, materials and expenses.
- Evaluate the profitability and quality of a product and/or service.
- Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production time etc.
- Recommend cost-cutting methods to increase profitability.
- Ability to use computer software to prepare estimates and supporting documentation.
- Collect and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
- Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Evaluate contingency requirements.
- Communicate with other departments, engineers and project managers to resolve issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors.
- Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in construction estimating.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Procore experience is a plus.
- Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of high end residential and retail construction processes.
- Excellent numerical skills and an analytic mindset.
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
