Accounting Manager
Butte, Montana
Our client is adding an Accounting Manager to play a key role in their full service financial institution.
Responsibilities
- Manages the accounting department’s personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution.
- Evaluate the accounting department’s personnel and departmental performance and recommend increased accuracy and efficiency.
- Provides direction and coaching to the accounting department’s personnel regarding policies, procedures, internal controls, and utilization of financial resources.
- Reviews source documents and record daily transactions.
- Posts several transactions to the appropriate general ledger account.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts as assigned.
- Work directly with the VP/Controller.
- Set up pay and monitor prepaid and accruals.
- Research investment opportunities, wire transfers, tracking, interest accruals, and post interest payments.
- Prepare financials for monthly board meetings.
- Performs duties of area personnel as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 5+ years of prior public accounting or progressive corporate accounting experience.
- Prior experience in audit is preferred
- Prior experience with compilations and reviews is a plus
- Ability to interact with all levels of professionals both internally and externally
- CPA is highly preferred but not absolutely required
