POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reports To: President: Perform accounting functions resulting in accurate and timely financial information. Supervision Received: Minimal Supervision Exercised: Completion and maintenance of general ledgers and various financial reports.
General Job Duties:
1. Maintain General ledger keeping balance sheet tied out and monitor P&L accounts (monthly).
2. Prepare all standard work papers and schedules required.
3. Prepare similar work papers for regular financial reports.
4. Monitor investment accounts.
5. Prepare regular financial statements including WIP. Requires a thorough understanding of percent complete accounting.
6. Close jobs regularly after review for cost status.
7. Monitor payroll entry and analyze due to/from accounts and correct as needed for burden relief, insurance deducts, equipment usage and payments, and related party activity.
8. Assist all staff in obtaining desired reports and producing Excel spreadsheets.
9. Prepare miscellaneous tax documents (including property tax returns) and assist payroll in preparing payroll tax reports.
10. Maintain fixed assets and depreciation for MCI and review MCSI.
11. Prepare schedules and obtain information as required/requested by management and other staff members.
12. Maintain Work Comp and general liability rates based on the most current policy and maintain Work Comp and general liability spread sheet for accruals and review for accuracy.
13. Generate and monitor note payable amortizations for payment verification, history current portion classification and accrued interest disclosure.
14. Prepare, assist or monitor as necessary accounting and tax functions for MRP and other LLCs/Partnerships as necessary.
15. Calculate and monitor average labor and burden rates for engineering bidding purposes.
16. Monitor payroll and vacation accruals.
17. Generate and monitor reconciliation of employee health package transactions for effect on company’s financial statements.
18. Calculate Deferred Compensation contributions, interest, and payouts.
19. Fiscal year end audits for Mays Concrete, Inc. and Mays Construction Specialties, Inc.
20. Performing other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
1. Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 2 years of experience in the construction industry or in a related area.
2. Minimum Required Skills, Ability, Licensing, Certification, Training, etc.: Knowledge of QuickBooks Quantum and spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
