SURVEY MANAGER
Civil Construction- Land Surveying- Road Construction- Highway Construction- Land Development
Responsibilities:
- Manage a group of surveyors & crew chiefs who are working on civil construction and public infrastructure projects
- Equipment management
- Manage various construction staking projects, as well as manage and oversee field work of various boundary and as-built surveys
- Provide expert oversight and training of GPS operations
- Research previous survey evidence and establish photogrammetric control for land development projects. Perform calculations for construction staking field layout.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews
Qualifications
- Licensed Virginia Land Surveyor a plus, not required
- 6+ years of relevant land surveying experience
- Field staff management experience
- BA/BS degree a plus
- Knowledge of surveying principles, regulations, techniques, and procedures
- Familiarity with all phases of survey including boundaries, topographic, platting, construction stakeout, etc.
- Working knowledge of field instrumentation
- Software knowledge including Civil 3D / AutoCAD
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Trimble Business Center modeling software
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate complete understanding of project requirements, including budget, regulatory requirements, and project submittal
- Excellent cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team, assisting with the training of survey personnel, coordination of field work, and leading others in accomplishing work activities
