Mechanical Engineering Manager
Role:
A leading medical device manufacturing is adding to their team! As a Mechanical Engineering Manager, this will be a hands on as well as management role. This person will oversee a team of 6-7 engineers while still have their hands in mechanical engineering projects within the medical device, life sciences, gene therapy, and biotech space.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 6-7 mechanical engineers both direct employees as well as some contractors
- Assist the Head of Products with the day to day flow dynamics product development
- Work within product development as a liaison between several divisions including R&D, technology, electronics, etc.
- Work with manufacturing suppliers, external vendors, internal stakeholders
- Design and Develop activities, test concepts, test prototypes, verify production, validate plans, etc.
- Help advance technology within the department and organization
- Special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
- Prior or current management experience is required; performance evaluations experience is key
- 8+ years of prior progressive mechanical engineering experience within medical device, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and/or biotech industries is highly preferred
- Prior experience with flow dynamics is a big plus
- Ability to be hands on within projects but an active leader
Travel:
Light travel is required with this position.
Compensation:
