Job Details:
My client is a highly regarded union Mechanical Contractor who is actively seeking an HVAC Services Manager on the commercial side. In this role, the Service Manager will lead a Service Team of around 15 people who are responsible for repairing and maintaining HVAC systems in commercial buildings. In addition to leading the team, the Service Manager will also serve as a company representative, working directly with customers, vendors, suppliers. As a summary, tasks include: • Scheduling and providing technical support for techs. • Recruit, interview, hire and train HVAC techs. • Supervise the team. • Review the technicians work to make sure quality and safety standards are being met. • Handle performance appraisals and formal reviews of service team. • Establish and maintain a training program in order to inform on latest service techniques and safety procedures. • Work with dispatch to make sure personnel is bring properly scheduled. • Develop and monitor budgets to optimize profitability. • Help to generate sales leads by promoting maintenance/service agreements, estimates and bids. Requirements for this role include at least 5 years of HVAC management experience, leading a team of field service techs. An understanding of a Union and Non-Union workforce is highly preferred. Candidate should have a strong in-depth understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems, and the ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and control circuits.
