Job Details:
My client is a well established Mechanical Contracting and design engineering firm who is actively seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer. Seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer who applies their collective design knowledge, skill and ability to a wide variety of projects across many industries. Provides continuous engineering support throughout the projects from design concept and budgeting through construction completion. Serves as the point person responsible for coordination and communication of activities between the design team and the client/customer.
Additional duties include:
- Provides complete management of project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team, Account Manager, Construction Team, and the client/customer, accurately & timely
- In accordance with company standards, assists in the preparation of accurate and complete proposals and engineering agreements
- Accurately and timely produces Mechanical Systems design elements consistent with project specifications
- Accurately and timely produces design elements in accordance with the project hours, scope & parameters
- Provides research design options consistent with project requirements
- Selects appropriate equipment for project type
- Creates permit and construction documents that are accurate and complete.
- Produces accurate and complete load calculations and engineering project specifications within project parameters
- Accurately and consistently executes QA/QC process
- Provides project coordination with in house and outside sources
- Provides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes and standards consistent with company quality standards.
- Actively participates in post design construction support activities and represents H.T. Lyons in client meetings
- Responsible for overseeing junior engineers assigned to team projects
- Actively mentors junior engineers and designers
- Follows established work rules, policies and procedures
- Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies and reduce costs
- Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles or responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; PE is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Expert knowledge of mechanical air/water systems and control systems, refrigeration, process, and hazardous exhaust systems.
- Expert knowledge of plumbing system design
- Expert knowledge of applicable building codes and standards
- Knowledge of the design-build process and constructability
- Knowledge of design and drafting standards
- Knowledge and utilization of company standards
- Demonstrable ability to interpret construction drawings
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience using Microsoft Office and web-based document control and collaborative software (e.g. Viewpoint, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc.
