Maintenance Manager J

 

Our manufacturing company is searching for a qualified Maintenance Manager to help repair and maintain our equipment and facilities as well as improve our business. This individual will be responsible for leading the maintenance process and assisting with the continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. This will be a hands-on position. The Maintenance Manager will be required to assist the maintenance staff in completing the day to day activities involving the maintenance and repairs of production equipment, building & machinery. This includes, but is not limited to automated plant machinery, air compressors, material handling equipment, building & doors, HVAC, lighting and overall facility appearance.

Skills & Experience: High School diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education/trade schooling, certifications, and experience may be substituted for a college degree at the discretion of management. 10+ years’ experience in machine repairs and maintenance management, preferably in the glass industry. Knowledge of automated  machines, automated tempering ovens and automated production machines would be a plus. Strong knowledge of mechanical concepts including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems. Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics. Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and repair as well as automated equipment troubleshooting and repair. PLC programming ability a plus Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, machine repair & maintenance, welding, plant layout, safety, painting and janitorial work. Familiarity with associated hand/power tools in the disciplines listed.

Strong knowledge of plant/OSHA health & safety standards as well as a fundamental understanding of applicable governmental regulations. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to budget maintenance costs. Ability to negotiate contracts with vendors. Essential Duties: Perform or oversee repairs, modifications, and upgrades to machinery, equipment, building and grounds. Maintain the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for machinery, equipment, building and grounds. Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of machinery, equipment, building and grounds. Prepare weekly work schedule and perform work while minimizing overtime. Perform repairs within the confines of an annual budget and track equipment downtime.

Arrange, coordinate and manage third-party contractor support as needed. Work with management to prepare maintenance budget and secure estimates and cost quotes as needed. Maintain up-to-date records for all Federal, State and Local mandates and inspections. Enforce safety and housekeeping practices, conform to safety policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain maintenance reports. Provide training for new and existing employees. Maintain inventory of parts and materials. May perform other specified duties as directed by management.
