Business Development Manager
Award-winning automation & controls systems integrator seeks business development manager with a hunter's mindset & Life Sciences industry experience. The type of individual we’re looking for should have experience selling technical consulting/professional services (ideally automation).
This type of sales is very consultative in nature (we don’t have a “product” per se) so someone that has some experience with selling some type of services or consulting would be beneficial. We are selling more of a solution offering. We have to identify and analyze the problem, peel the onion so to speak with questions to get to the root cause of what the customer is trying to accomplish, suggest ways to potentially solve it, and then work with the customer and our engineering team to develop, propose, and implement a solution that will address the core issues.
The successful candidate will be out of a process controls industry: Mission Critical, Metals, Food & Beverage, Biotech/Pharma, Water/Wastewater, Semiconductor, Oil & Gas, etc. Demonstrated ability to secure new accounts and business will be the difference between a candidate that will be interviewed and one that will receive an offer. This person won't walk in to a book of accounts.
- Work with contractors, vendors, and consultants to identify potential job opportunities
- Develop accurate bid proposals clearly identifying proposed scope of work
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree, MBA preferred
- Engineering, technical background
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- cGMP & 21 CFR 211 acumen
