Automation Specialist (Industrial/Wastewater)
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in an engineering or computer-based discipline, plus four years of related experience, or combination of education and experience.
- Must have working knowledge of relay-based control systems, PLC/SCADA based control systems and networks.
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications and plans.
- Proficient computer skills with all basic office programs (Excel, Outlook, and Word), industry standard PLC, SCADA programming packages and the ability to learn and use related software and systems required.
- Experience with Allen Bradley, Schneider Modicon and SCADAPak PLC’s preferred.
- Experience with Ignition, Allen Bradley, Schneider and Wonderware SCADA systems preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret all project related documents (electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.) to accurately quantify the control system scope.
- Produce accurate, high quality and functional PLC and SCADA application software using proprietary programming packages such as Studio 500, Studio 5000, Unity, Ignition, Wonderware etc.
- Accurately quantify all hardware and software requirements for projects.
- Evaluate and review of all SCADA and programming project design data.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize projects in accordance with deadline requirements.
- Work in conjunction with Customer, Senior Engineer, Consulting Engineers, Pre-Construction and Contract Managers to prepare an accurate design proposal.
- Assists in developing uniform procedures and standards for the software design process.
