Job Details:
Our global clients Finance Department is expanding and looking to hire a Tax Manager in their West Chester, PA area HQ.
The Tax Manager position offers exposure to a myriad of various types of corporate tax compliance and provision issues in the areas of federal, state, local and international taxes. The Tax Manager will participate in all aspects of US tax compliance, planning, financial reporting and controversy efforts. The Tax Manager will work with other members of the tax team, as well as the financial reporting and accounting teams, regarding tax compliance and tax accounting issues.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the US Federal income tax filings, including extensions and estimates throughout the year.
- Preparation of state and local income tax filings, including extensions and estimated payments.
- Analysis of general ledger accounts and preparation of tax adjustments for US corporate Federal, state and local income tax returns, and franchise tax returns.
- Preparation of annual reports, census, property tax and other miscellaneous filings with governmental authorities.
- Assist with sales and use process and address sales tax questions that may require independent research of sales tax laws in various jurisdictions.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations, including tax account reconciliations and roll forwards, as well as resulting journal entries.
- Prepare Forms 5471 (average of 54+ CFCs), Forms 8858 (average of 20+ DREs and branches), and Form 1118.
- Assist with GILTI and FDII computations.
- Assist with audits for federal, state, local, and sales and use tax.
- Assist with special projects.
- Continuously look to improve departmental methods for information gathering and analysis through internal and external tools
In addition in this position you will:
Assist with the tax aspects of acquisition due diligence, integrations, compliance, and restructurings.
Support Tax Planning/Tax Research Initiatives through research and preparation of statistical and financial reports, both on a regular and specially-assigned basis with regard to Federal, state and international planning, acquisitions, and audit defense strategies.
Required Skills:
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn all aspects of taxation.
- Proven capacity for handling multiple tasks, coupled with flexibility and creative problem-solving skills in a time-sensitive environment.
- Possess strong orientation to detail, assuming ownership of projects and organizing to deliver on deadline.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and to function independently, demonstrating a high level of motivation for taking initiative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including working knowledge of SAP, CorpTax, Vertex (for sales & use tax), MS Office, Excel and Word.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of tax compliance experience in federal, state and/or local taxation with a public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation.
- Exposure to sales and use tax and other miscellaneous tax filings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related course of study. A CPA certification and/or a MS in Taxation or MBA, a plus.
- Experience with Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740).
- Strong desire to continually improve skillset and grow a career in Tax.
