Network Manager
JOB PURPOSE
To manage all functions of the company’s computer network and provide users support.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Equipment Operated: Telephone, personal computer, printer, copy machine, facsimile machine, dumb terminals, various PC’s and servers, Cisco routers/switches, firewall, Zoom video conferencing software, wireless equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job functions:
The key responsibility of this position is to ensure the network is operating at key capacity and is properly secured. Core skills needed are strong communication and troubleshooting with the ability to research issues independently. This position will work with a variety of products anything from Cisco switches / routers, Firewall, Call Manager, Sophos Email Security to NetApp SAN, Linux and Window Servers, Meraki Security Cameras, Ruckus Wireless Controller and APs, Exchange, Active Directory, Office365, and Zoom Video Conferencing. You will be responsible for automating and maintaining end-point security patching and updates, data backups, and working closely with all the IT Staff including PC technicians and outside vendors. You will support end users via the helpdesk ticket system, remote access tools and face to face support when necessary. This position will report to the Senior Director of IT.
Analysis, development and implementation of network hardware.
Document IT procedures to automate processes or improve existing systems.
Ensures optimum performance of the MIS function. Make recommendations to the Senior Director of IT to implement new techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs.
Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and plan work adhering to deadlines and assigned priorities; ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to position; excellent communication and strong troubleshooting skills required. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work projects; ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization; ability to adjust to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities; ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; basic knowledge of human behavior and management techniques.
Education/Training: High School Diploma; Tech School or College for Networking preferred.
Work Experience: 5 Years’ experience with Cisco Switches/Routers/Firewall and VoIP. Call Manager experience a plus. 2 years primary server administrator for Windows required. 2 years Linux Administration with Red Hat and Oracle Databases preferred. Experience with Windows Active Directory, Exchange, Office365, and SAN. Minimum 1-year IT Supervisor experience preferred.
