My client is a global leader looking for a Desktop Architect.
Position Description:
The End User / Desktop Computing Architect will provide strategic leadership and support for the design, delivery, implementation and maintenance of all Endpoint Computing.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for endpoint computing technical architecture and strategic technical direction.
• Responsible for the daily operations of all endpoint management activities but not limited to image deployment, software deployment, patch management, and configuration management.
• Hands on support for clinical desktop systems, Microsoft SCCM, and Mobile systems.
• Provides technical support and technical leadership for application technology projects.
• Lead team in the planning and designing of end user systems that support patient care.
• Be an active participant with the Architecture Review Board and Enterprise Architecture Board.
• Optimizes operational excellence for desktops, laptops, and other endpoint commuting devices and software.
• Coordinates all software and security updates and upgrades to the endpoint systems and makes recommendations for vendor, staff resources needed to ensure successful implementation.
• Provides testing support to ensure endpoint software and hardware enhancements are implemented and operate reliability.
• Tests all updates to images and certifies that they perform as expected and ensure changes do not negatively impact the computing environment.
• Coordinates testing and implementation of desktop and laptop upgrades and images.
• System problem identification and resolution and/or provides resources for resolution.
• Maintains records of systems and their changes or upgrades.
• Provides leadership to technical team members
Architecture and Strategic Technical Leadership:
• Industry subject matter expert; influences all Endpoint Management technical decisions.
• Supports Information Technology knowledge management through documenting, maintaining, and improving standards and processes in assigned areas and assisting others to do so.
• Contributes to performance improvement programs to enhance and sustain endpoint security, availability, and integrity.
• Provides support and maintenance in assigned area by responding to service requests and events logged in problem management and reporting system, maintaining contact with customers as needed.
• Troubleshoots problems and reports operational issues to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains the necessary documentation as required by standard operating procedures or security policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
4+ years specific systems experience including 2+ years managerial experience
Critical Skills
• 6+ years’ experience in desktop engineering and endpoint system management, design, architecture
• 3+ years’ experience in designing, building, and deploying Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) within a complex enterprise wide environment of 10,000+ endpoints.
• 3+ years’ experience in software packaging and software delivery methodologies.
• Candidates should demonstrate enterprise level knowledge of endpoint management solutions Deployment Solution, Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), BigFix, MSI Package Builder, Wise Package Studio, and other tools. At least two years’ experience with workstation and software virtualization technologies
• Experience in designing and deploying the Windows 10/365 operating system
• Experience providing technical architecture and strategic technical direction
• Strong knowledge across multiple scripting languages and tools such as Visual Basic, PowerShell, or Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
• Must have strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to convey solutions to upper management.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
• Healthcare knowledge and experience, preferred.
• Microsoft Certifications, preferred.
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
