Senior Medical Writer
Medical Communications – Publications – Publication Planning – Healthcare Communication
Our client an excellent medical communications agency based in the Chicago area is actively in search of a Senior Medical Writer. Applicants will have experience providing scientific & clinical expertise at a medical communications company focusing on medical publications & publication planning focused work. Diversified therapeutic experience is a plus.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Strong Publication / Publication Planning experience
- In direct collaboration with academic & pharmaceutical authors (based on clinical study data) assist with the writing, revising, and submission of primary & secondary research & review manuscripts to medical journals as well as abstracts, posters, and slide decks for presentation at medical meetings
- Provide high quality scientific and medical content in a given or variety of therapeutic areas.
- Ability to work with internal staff and teams (program management, account management, etc) to ensure timely delivery
- All therapeutic experience considered
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as you will be interacting on a regular basis with staff, clients and industry professionals
- Strong time and project management skills
- Knowledge of AMA writing style
- Medical Communications industry writing experience (Publications/Medical Communications is required)
- Experience with creation of strategy, planning and implementing of publications
- Hands on Medical writing experience
- Excellent computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other industry software
Qualifications:
- MS, PhD, MD, PharmD, advanced degree with at least 2 or more years of Medical Writing experience in a healthcare communications agency, medical education, publication planning, medical communications company
- Strong Publications experience/understanding
- Understanding of AMA guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Microsoft proficient (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other industry software)
- Ability to work both independent and as a team member
