Statistical Analyst is responsible for creating time-series models that accurately predict future product sales. Analyst will work closely with Demand Planning team to increase forecast accuracy.
JOB DUTIES:
Build and Maintain Statistical Models: 40%
• Create and enhance time-series models to predict level customer requirements in monthly buckets for the next 18 months
• Review statistically generated demand forecasts and manage statistical parameters
• Review monthly accuracy and bias metrics and adjust models to reduce error
• Create segmentation of products based on characteristics such as volume, customers and length of history and create unique time-series models to best predict future sales volume
• Incorporate causal factors such as price and promotion type to predict lift associated with events
Build and Maintain Constraint Based Supply Plan Model: 40%
• Manage optimization models to generate constraint based supply plans that meet business guidelines and goals
• Work with Supply Planning team to incorporate business requirements into optimization model
• Drive reduction in total operations cost and increased fill rate by enhancing optimization model
• Create ad-hoc optimization scenarios to support the business decision such as where to locate warehouses, impact on cost/fill rate due to supply interruption or change to total delivered cost based on change in source of supply.
System Maintenance and Ad-Hoc Data Analysis: 20%
• Responsible for overall accuracy of planning system. Investigate and correct any data integrity or functionality issues working directly with internal IT teams and as needed.
• Review new functionality and determine benefit for as well as work with to add new capabilities as needed.
• Become Super-User and assist Demand and Supply Planning teams to build reports and capabilities that require advanced support.
• Utilize statistical background to assist in any ad-hoc analysis needed by the business

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or related field, advanced degree preferred
• Experience building time series models and linear programming in R
• Ability to manage complex data, infer trends, and spot patterns
• Understand forecasting concepts, models, and statistical techniques
• Must demonstrate strong communication, decision making and problem solving skills.
• Experience working in Supply Chain and/or Consumer Goods preferred
