Highway Construction Project Engineer
5 Start Construction company looking to add a Project Engineer. Company offers very competitive salary, car allowance, holiday pay, vacation, matching 401(k), and profit sharing. Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design
- Assist Superintendent
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
- Established working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in ADOT
- Provide engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects, Construction Manager at Risk and design-build highway projects
- Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including but not limited to roadway, , drainage, and traffic design
- Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
- Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
- Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action
- Participate in project by completing tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering required.
- At least 5 years of progressive engineering experience possessing a broad knowledge and experience in transportation/design and strong technical skills in highway design is required
- Experience working with ADOT or other state DOT is required
- Project management skills such as, schedule management, financial management and effective written/verbal communications skills is a plus
