Join a Delaware Top Workplaces Award recipient known for its supportive, collaborative, and professional environment. We are looking for a Trust & Estate Paralegal to join our Wilmington, DE office and support an attorney focused on Elder Law, Medicare/Medicaid planning, and estate planning.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with 1–3 years of experience who wants to build a long-term career in Trust & Estate and Elder Law. You’ll work closely with an experienced attorney and play an important role in helping clients and families navigate complex planning decisions.
What You'll Do
- Support an attorney handling Elder Law, Trust & Estate, and Medicare/Medicaid planning matters.
- Assist with Medicaid planning, asset protection, and long-term care planning.
- Communicate with clients and families to gather financial, medical, and personal information needed for planning.
- Prepare and organize documents related to trusts, estates, powers of attorney, and other estate planning matters.
- Assist with Medicaid applications, supporting documentation, and eligibility-related paperwork.
- Gather and review financial records, bank statements, insurance information, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, financial institutions, healthcare providers, government agencies, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical client files.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, checklists, and other legal documents.
- Track deadlines and follow up with clients to ensure matters move forward efficiently.
- Provide professional and compassionate client service, particularly when working with elderly clients and their families.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of paralegal experience in Trust & Estate, Elder Law, Medicaid planning, or a related practice area.
- Experience with Medicaid planning or long-term care planning strongly preferred.
- Understanding of estate planning concepts, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and asset protection.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and their families.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
- Paralegal Certificate or related education preferred.
