Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong commercial instincts—someone who enjoys solving complex power problems and building relationships. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and sales, acting as a trusted advisor to customers navigating critical infrastructure challenges.

You’ll work directly with data centers, renewable energy developers, and industrial clients to design and deliver medium-voltage transformer solutions that are technically sound, commercially competitive, and built for long-term reliability. Just as important, you’ll bring personality to the process—someone who can walk into a room, earn trust quickly, and confidently guide conversations from concept through close.

Key Responsibilities

Customer-Facing Engineering & Sales

  • Serve as the technical face of the business, leading conversations with engineers, operators, and executive stakeholders
  • Translate complex electrical requirements into practical, cost-effective transformer solutions
  • Review single-line diagrams, specifications, and RFQs to develop compliant and competitive proposals
  • Drive opportunities forward—balancing technical credibility with a strong sense of urgency and ownership

Power Systems & Application Expertise

  • Specify and apply medium-voltage transformer solutions including padmount, unit substation, and dry-type systems
  • Advise customers on power distribution, protection schemes, and system reliability
  • Support infrastructure tied to data centers, renewable energy, and industrial facilities
  • Interpret field conditions, test data, and existing equipment to develop retrofit or replacement strategies

Controls, Monitoring & Modernization

  • Guide customers on smart monitoring, controls, and grid-edge integration
  • Support second-life transformer applications by evaluating and repurposing existing assets
  • Act as the bridge between field service insights and engineering execution

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure alignment from quote to delivery
  • Mentor junior team members and elevate internal technical knowledge
  • Help develop tools, playbooks, and technical resources that strengthen the overall sales organization

What We’re Looking For

  • Electrical Engineering mindset with a passion for power systems and real-world applications
  • 10+ years of experience in transformer applications, power systems, switchgear, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of medium-voltage systems (up to 35 kV), including protection and distribution
  • Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, specifications, and protection schemes
  • Sales aptitude and presence:
    • Comfortable leading conversations with customers and decision-makers
    • Able to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, compelling solutions
    • Naturally curious, responsive, and driven to win business
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, and NETA standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (PE a plus), though strong field experience is equally valued

Why This Role Stands Out

  • High-impact role at the center of critical power infrastructure growth
  • Direct exposure to data centers, renewables, and industrial power systems
  • Opportunity to combine engineering depth with sales influence and earning potential
  • Low travel (typically under 10%) with meaningful, purpose-driven client interaction

The ideal candidate is currently working for Vertiv, Eaton, GE Vernova, ABB or a similar electrical power company.
