Senior Civil Engineer
A well-respected civil engineering firm in the Chicago suburbs is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing team.
Responsibilities
-
Lead planning, design, and permitting for site development and roadway projects
-
Design site grading, drainage, stormwater detention, utilities, flood studies, and roadway improvements
-
Prepare and oversee construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
-
Manage and mentor engineering staff; balance workloads and meet project deadlines
-
Review and direct work produced by design engineers and CAD technicians
-
Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies
-
Serve as liaison with municipal clients throughout project lifecycle
-
Provide project coordination and construction administration support
-
Participate in meetings and communicate project progress effectively
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
-
Illinois Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
-
10+ years of civil engineering experience
-
Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams preferred
-
Experience working with municipal clients
-
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and make sound engineering decisions
