Junior Civil Engineer – Site Design
Location: South Jersey
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to support site design and land development projects throughout South Jersey. This role is ideal for an entry-level or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in civil site design, permitting, and construction documentation under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of civil site design plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and roadway layouts
- Support land development projects from concept through construction documentation
- Perform basic engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs
- Assist with preparation of permit applications and responses to municipal and agency review comments (NJDEP, county, and local jurisdictions)
- Coordinate with internal design teams, surveyors, and consultants
- Review shop drawings and support construction administration as needed
- Conduct occasional site visits to observe construction progress and compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 0–3 years of experience in civil site design or land development
- EIT certification or progress toward licensure preferred
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with New Jersey land development regulations is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
