Job Details:
Electrical Controls Engineer – Automation & Vision Systems
URGENT NEED!
Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Controls Engineer to take a lead role in designing, programming, and integrating advanced automation and robotic systems for manufacturing and process environments. This position blends hands-on engineering, creative problem-solving, and technical innovation — ideal for candidates who thrive at the intersection of hardware, software, and intelligent vision-based control.
You’ll work across all phases of a project — from concept and design through installation, commissioning, and long-term support — collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver high-performing, reliable, and elegant automation solutions.
We’re looking for engineers who aren’t just programmers, but builders, troubleshooters, and innovators — people who can visualize a system, bring it to life, and refine it to perfection.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration & Project Support
-
Partner with cross-functional teams — mechanical, electrical, and project engineers — to plan and execute automation system designs.
-
Interface directly with clients to define requirements, address technical challenges, and ensure system functionality aligns with expectations.
-
Provide oversight and guidance for panel design, wiring, and system integration.
-
Participate in project reviews, field commissioning, and on-site installations.
Engineering & Integration
-
Design, program, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical control systems.
-
Develop and debug PLC, HMI, servo, robot, and machine vision applications.
- Vision: Keyence, Cognex, Fanuc IRV are preferred
-
Perform in-house testing, system runoffs, and ensure field performance meets all safety and performance standards.
-
Collaborate on mechanical and control system modifications to meet evolving project requirements.
-
Maintain rigorous documentation for control logic, electrical prints, and integration standards.
Installation & Support
-
Commission and support automated manufacturing systems both in-house and at client facilities.
-
Diagnose and resolve issues in PLCs, HMIs, robots, and vision systems.
-
Provide high-quality technical support post-installation to ensure sustained system performance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
-
2–5 years of hands-on experience in controls programming, automation integration, or industrial robotics.
-
Proven experience with one or more major PLC/HMI platforms (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, GE, etc.).
- Vision experience: Keyence, Cognex, Fanuc IRV are preferred
Technical Skills
-
Strong background in PLC, HMI, and motion control (VFD, servo systems).
-
Preferred experience in robotic programming and machine vision integration.
-
Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics and control documentation.
-
Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, etc.), and safety circuits.
-
Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to perform hands-on field modifications.
Professional Attributes
-
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
-
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving approach.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Willingness to travel (up to ~30%) for installation and commissioning activities.
