Senior Director, Fund Accounting
A leading investment firm is seeking a senior Fund Accounting leader to oversee accounting governance for newly launched continuous capital / evergreen fund products. This role will guide accounting policy, NAV oversight, and operational controls across complex private market strategies while partnering closely with operations, product, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead fund accounting policy for continuous capital / evergreen fund vehicles
- Provide monthly and/or daily NAV oversight and approval for tender offer or interval funds (Lux UCITS Part II acceptable substitute)
- Support the launch and operational scaling of new evergreen fund products
- Partner with operations, administrators, and technology teams to enhance NAV delivery, automation, and data workflows
- Review complex carry, incentive fee, and high watermark arrangements
- Provide technical accounting leadership and mentorship across fund accounting teams
Required Experience
- Big 4, followed by experience in-house at an investment manager or with a leading fund administrator
- Demonstrated NAV oversight and approval experience for tender offer or interval funds (hedge fund experience alone is not sufficient)
- Operations experience within an investment manager environment
- Fund accounting / investment operations experience
- Prior team management preferred; if individual contributor, must demonstrate deep technical expertise
Preferred
- Private markets experience
- Oversight of complex carry / incentive fee structures
- Recent experience with NAV automation, vendor oversight, or fund accounting technology implementations
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation
