Electrical Designer
Position Summary
A leading MEP firm seeks an Electrical Designer to develop and produce electrical design drawings for MEP projects. This role will create detailed plans for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems, collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure code-compliant, high-quality designs.
Responsibilities

Prepare electrical drawings, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm layouts, using AutoCAD and Revit.

Perform basic load calculations and assist with equipment sizing under the guidance of engineers.

Develop schematics, single-line diagrams, and panel schedules to support project specifications.

Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure design integration.

Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction phase activities.

Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, and local building codes.
Qualifications
-
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.

3+ years of experience in electrical design for MEP projects (e.g., offices, hospitals, schools).

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with BIM processes preferred.

Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
