Immigration Paralegal - Hybrid - $90-105k - EB-5 experience is required
Our national law firm client is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Immigration Paralegal with specific expertise in EB-5 visa cases to join their growing team.
Job Summary:
The Immigration Paralegal will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to attorneys in their EB-5 practice group. This role requires a thorough understanding of the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage a high volume of complex cases. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of EB-5 visa cases, from initial client intake through petition filing and beyond.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, investors, regional centers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing inquiries.
- Evaluate complex financial and business documents to ensure compliance with EB-5 requirements.
- Prepare and file Form I-526 (Immigrant Petition by Alien Investor), Form I-829 (Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status), and related forms and supporting documentation.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cover letters, exhibits, and tables of contents for submission to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- Monitor case progress and deadlines, proactively following up on pending matters and responding to requests for evidence (RFEs).
- Maintain and update case management systems and client files with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct legal research on EB-5 regulations, policies, and precedent decisions.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for client meetings, interviews, and other legal proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant immigration laws, regulations, and firm policies.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Immigration Paralegal, with a strong focus on EB-5 immigrant investor cases.
- Thorough understanding of the EB-5 visa program requirements, including investment amounts, job creation criteria, source of funds regulations, and targeted employment area (TEA) designations.
- Proven experience in preparing and filing successful I-526 and I-829 petitions.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and other parties.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
