We are seeking an experienced IT Category Manager / Indirect Category Manager - IT to lead Supply Chain Management engagement for IT Projects and Programs within a dynamic healthcare system. This role will focus on developing and executing Sourcing Plans, managing supplier contracts, and driving cost savings and process improvements across the IT Category. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in IT procurement, with a proven track record in negotiating complex contracts including SaaS, Software, Telecommunications, IT Hardware, and IT Consulting Agreements, ideally within a healthcare environment.
What You Will Do
- Identify savings opportunities and develop category sourcing plans, documenting cost savings and process improvements.
- Provide strategic guidance on sourcing initiatives across various departments.
- Analyze spend and utilization data to pinpoint expense reduction and operational enhancement opportunities, targeting high-cost/high-volume supplies.
- Lead strategic vendor negotiations and manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing process, including spend analysis, RFx development, vendor selection, and savings identification.
- Manage multiple projects with tight timelines, ensuring compliance with supplier-diversity goals and organizational objectives.
- Monitor vendor performance and stakeholder satisfaction throughout contract terms, supporting broader Supply Chain programs with market research and cost analyses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while seeking new vendor partnerships.
- Mentor junior staff, contribute to process improvements, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory contracting guidelines.
- Collaborate with legal teams as needed and participate in Supply Chain improvement workgroups or professional forums.
Education Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Master’s Degree
Experience Qualifications
- Required: At least five (5) years of related experience
- Preferred: At least seven (7) years of related experience
