Shop Manager (Heavy Equipment)
Equipment Maintenance- Equipment Service
The shop manager will be responsible for coordinating and performing activities pertaining to company equipment, tools, machines, and vehicles repair and maintenance for the organization. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, competent, professional, has a history of hands-on experience and can manage & motivate department employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains shop/yard cleanliness and organization.
- Provide effective communication in-person and through telephone and email regarding equipment status when necessary
- Follows & maintains company safety requirements.
- Schedules equipment maintenance & repair according to priority
- Tracks history of items to determine best solution (Repair/Replace)
- Manage maintenance mechanic team, including work progress and productivity goals, equipment preventative maintenance & service schedule, ensure equipment warranty compliance
- Order necessary replacement parts when needed
- Regular maintenance training to keep team members aligned and up to date on effective processes and procedures
- Oversight & management approval of maintenance team time sheets, vacation & sick time, overtime, and attendance
- Provide support & hands on assistance in the maintenance and repair of company equipment
- Serve as an integral part of the organization, communicating with management and field personnel to keep operations functioning properly
