Estimator (Heavy Civil Construction)
Heavy Civil Construction- Heavy Highway- Road Construction- Site Development- Bridge Construction- Utilities
An excellent well-established Heavy Highway / Site Construction / Civil Construction Contractor is actively seeking to add a Junior Estimator or Mid-level Estimator to the team for a full-time permanent staff opportunity.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Ensure bids, estimates, and budgets are timely
- Perform quantity take-offs and turnkey estimates for heavy construction projects (Heavy/Highway, Utilities, Bridges, Commercial Site work, Heavy Civil projects, etc.)
- Providing an estimate for job cost to process, document acquisition, subcontract and purchase order setup, project scheduling, change order pricing and negotiation, contract administration, job cost review, billings, collections, project meetings and project closeout.
- Heavy highway /Sitework construction practices, techniques, and principles.
- Estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
- Industry estimating software experience a plus (HCSS HeavyBid, Heavy Job, Agtek, Constructware, Earthworks, Procore, Spectrum, ProEstimate Heavy, AccuBuild, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Ideally two (2) + years’ experience as an estimator in a heavy highway, heavy civil, highway contractor, bridge, paving utility, sitework contractor
- Experience in developing cost estimates, quantity take-off’s, and schedules
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- BA/BS degree a plus
- Must possess strong communication skills written, electronic and verbal
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and related programs
