Job Details:
My client is seeking a HVAC Mechanical Project Sales Manager. The person selected could be a General Manager at a smaller place or an HVAC Equipment Sales person, an HVAC Service Sales person or a Building Automation Controls Account Executive. They will consider all of these types of backgrounds for this position!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree recommended
- 10+ years of Commercial mechanical sales experience with proven success
- Strong financial acumen
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage a team
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and currently maintain a safe driving record as required by the company’s insurance provider
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:
- Has an eye for talent, continually builds and maintains a network of industry contacts and supports company recruiting efforts.
- Consults with Human Resources to ensure personnel actions are appropriate (i.e. hiring, firing, promotions, compensation).
- Promotes strong working relationships between Operations and Sales.
- Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new mechanical Project Sales Reps (PSRs) for Denver.
- Working with each direct report to co-author a written Associate Development Plan (ADP) to foster continuous improvement.
- Gain an understanding of the customer base and assign sales reps to accounts based on technical ability and personality.
- Conducting annual performance evaluations for assigned personnel and follow up regularly regarding progress toward identified ADP goals.
- Using sales tools (CRM, SharePoint, proposal templates, estimate workbooks, etc.) with a high level of proficiency; especially with pipeline management, workflows, closing out assigned cases, and pricing.
- Training team members in the use of sales tools and holding them accountable for adoption and consistent usage.
- Achieving the mechanical Project Sales plan in assigned territory.
- Prioritize account management with project sales team.
- Coaching sales reps on ‘the Haynes way’ of managing accounts for higher customer retention and a greater customer experience.
- Training PSRs to become fully qualified in all steps of the Haynes project sales cycle; especially budgeting, technical assessments, qualifying questions, and gap analysis.
- Demonstrating leadership in strategic sales; including use of Challenger selling concepts, Gap Selling principles, financing, and bundled solutions.
- Demonstrating the ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships that lead to future project sales opportunities.
- Collaborating and communicating with GM’s and operational leaders.
Provides solutions to business needs and communicates financial and business implications to upper management.
