ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
We are searching for an Electrical Engineer to join a growing architecture & engineering firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
You will be designing complicated and various electrical systems utilized within the respective markets listed above.
Assist field staff, General Contractors, Architects, and Engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and design during construction.
Create and evolve system designs from concept to final construction document phase.
Perform analyses and apply problem-solving techniques to develop creative, innovative solutions.
Provide technical support for other engineers and designers in the MEP Department.
Travel to and visit project construction sites to observe construction progress and compose field reports. (Site visits may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out-of-town project locations).
Review, understand, and apply local, state, and federal codes and standards related to the design and construction of project facilities, including NEC (National Electrical Code).
Must follow and adequately apply market-specific guidelines, the practices, and policies of the associated local and building codes, discipline, divisions, and firm.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and design independently with minimal project supervision from beginning to end.
Ability to manage deadline-driven workload and work on multiple projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
We are targeting a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design.
A PE EE license in any state is preferred; however, an engineer that has passed the FE will be considered.
Knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, grounding/bonding, fire alarm, telephone/data, and other low voltage systems (paging, nurse call, etc.).
Familiarity with/ knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
Required systems and software expertise includes AutoCAD, Revit, power analysis software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM, and lighting photometric calculation software such as Visual.
Healthcare and Federal design skills or related experience is a strong plus but not required.
