Job Details:
Product Development Engineer
Apply technical knowledge to solve design problems and develop new products and systems.
Plan, lead, and report on projects; maintaining scope, schedule, and cost. You will utilize mechanical engineering expertise along with best practice methodology to deliver product designs and new product designs.
- 4 plus years of product design experience preferred. Demonstrated record of success delivering innovative products. Excellent 3D modeling skills.
- Experience with machining, prototyping and product testing.
- Create 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Create detail drawings, part and product specifications for tooling and manufacturing control.
- Generate comprehensive DFMEA documents, Engineering Product Specifications, Quality and Audit Plans and Engineering drawings.
- Develop innovative products that meet customer expectations, quality and financial requirements, and industry and government compliance standards.
- Apply appropriate governing agency requirements, ASTM to designs. Develop test plans that prove product compliance.
- Manage multiple product development projects using a Stage/Gate process with a focus on defining the timeline.
- Experience with Plastics. Injection Molding, Extrusion, Thermoplastics and Thermoset material products.
- Materials, plastic extrusion, and polymer compounding and processing.
- Knowledge of rubber sealing system (gasket/O-ring) design is a plus.
- Comfortable with machining tools, rapid prototype assembly and hands on field testing.
- Knowledge of material technology and process engineering.
- Create test plans in cooperation with our lab and/or outside labs.
- Assess and optimize existing products for application, field performance, and/or manufacturing improvements.
- Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills are required.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other technical degree. 3 to 30 years’ related work experience.
US Citizenship, Green Card, Perm Resident.
Hybrid work schedule 2 days remote 3 days in the office.
This is a one-year contract position with the opportunity to go salaried if desired by both parties.
Salary $35.00 to $65.00 hourly
