Staff Accountant
$65k +/- Onsite, 1-2 years of experience
Elite client is seeking a Staff Accountant for an onsite role in Mankato MN. 1-2 years of experience.
Essential Functions
- Post invoices into accounting system on a daily and timely basis while ensuring invoices are coded to the correct GL accounts and cost centers.
- 1099 Preparation and Reporting
- Communicate with vendors to resolve account discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries.
- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
- Assist in the reconciliation of various assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Assist senior accountants in the preparation of month-end and year-end closings.
- Calculate and prepare the monthly accruals.
- Calculate and prepare various reclassification journal entries.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and special tasks, as assigned.
- Perform general administrative tasks (word processing, scanning, network filing, faxing, etc.)
- Cooperate with other office staff to answer company phones. Take calls for the department to handle requests, answer questions, take messages, etc.
Competencies

- Ability to use computer desktop and web-based applications.
- Time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- SAGE experience highly preferred
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks preferred.
