Corporate Paralegal
Role:
A national public accounting and advisory firm is expanding their corporate legal team by adding an additional Corporate Paralegal to their expanding team. As a in house corporate paralegal, this person will report to Counsel and be responsible for client communications, drafting agreements, maintaining document database, help streamline processes, etc. This position will be helping with employment law, immigration law, intellectual property law, etc. This is a key employee for the organization that will have a major impact on the organization!
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, redline, and analyze commercial contracts, including but not limited to client engagement contracts, employment contracts, immigration contracts, etc.
- Maintain and protect confidentiality, privilege, sensitivity, and/or security of all oral and written communications and apply legends and use encryption for that purpose when needed
- Identify, collect, and organize relevant documents and direct company support in response to requests for documents
- Collaborate and partner with Counsel to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
- Work with general counsel and attorneys administratively to support critical deadlines - Board meetings, Presentations, Conferences, Board Weeks, agendas
- Support attorney work product via word processing, preparation of PowerPoint presentations, and project-status reporting (Excel, Passport Legal Matter Management, other applications)
- Organize, track, and maintain files with attention to sensitive information and time constraints
- Maintain legal document management systems: create, maintain, and manage databases; maintain direct contact with legal staff; and propose possible solutions and courses of action to responsible attorney(s) as necessary
- Provide back up support / white glove administrative support to both the C-Level Suite, Board of Directors, Legal, etc.
- Make administrative decisions and take action in the executives’ absence
- Create, design & maintain executive's presentations
- Coordinate projects - capture timelines & strategies, Coordinate progress updates, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Prior corporate legal assistant experience is required.
- Prior experience with employment law, immigration law, intellectual property law, etc. is highly preferred
- Strong technical background - PowerPoint, ERP Systems, Excel, MS Office, etc.
- The ability to read through lengthy contracts - employment contracts, client contracts, etc.
- The ability to travel for conferences, meetings, and company events is a huge plus; 1-3 times a year.
- Exemplary planning and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as cross functionally with all levels of employees, self-starter, Entrepreneur
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills to interact with high profile clients and executives
Working Conditions:
This position will be a hybrid working situation with 3 days in the office and 2 days’ work from home.
