Job Details:
My client is a National Construction Management firm who does FED, DOD and in this case National Park Service projects. They are seeking a Commercial oriented Construction Project Engineer:
Description:
- Be primary go-between for PMSI and the Owner for all submittals and RFIs
- In charge of all document control for their assigned project, including plans and specifications, RFI’s, submittals, as built drawings, and project O&M manuals.
- Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule.
- Assist Project Manager in procurement, scopes and contract execution.
- Provide support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, review of submittals.
- Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents.
- Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings, and document accordingly.
- Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule
- Provide support on preconstruction activities, including subcontracts, purchase orders and procurement
- Manage Submittal, RFI & Change Management Logs
- Assist the Project Manager in Project Monthly reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Four year engineering or construction related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
- Working knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Prolog
- Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
- 3 years minimum experience working on Commercial Projects.
