Senior Category Sourcing Associate
Role:
A premier global manufacturing organization with a global headquarters located here in the United States is looking to add a Category Sourcing Associate due to an internal promotion. As a Category Sourcing Associate, this individual will work closely with business leaders and partners to help optimize sourcing strategies, costs, cost savings, cost avoidance, category sourcing, working with suppliers, monitoring supplier performance, as well as introducing new technologies and process to the team. This position will be sourcing for manufacturing products, equipment’s, raw materials, chemicals, electrical components, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Lead special strategic sourcing projects, specific programs, and work-transfers as set-forth by the organization as assigned by the direct supervisor. Work with the Commodity Managers, suppliers, internal customers, and any other department disciplines required to successfully complete assignments.
- Lead negotiations between suppliers and internal business partners
- Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, improve cost competitiveness, etc.
- Collaborate with our team members to perform the most complex sourcing support activities for a category or subcategory locally.
- Solicit and analyze requests for proposals, negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal clients for goods and services.
- Establish working relationship with operations to ensure accurate information is provided and continuous improvement opportunities are identified.
- Lead and develop new sourcing projects
- Monitor Supplier performance
- Help introduce best practices, new technologies, process improvements, etc.
- Special Projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or similar discipline
- 4+ years of prior procurement, category sourcing, or similar experience is required
- Prior manufacturing, industrial equipment, or chemical industry experience is a huge plus
- Ability to problem solve, interact with all different levels of employees both internally and externally, as well as develop relationships
- Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP system is a plus
Compensation:
A competitive compensation package will be available for this position including a base salary 90-120K, annual bonus 10%, as well as medical, dental, vision, a GREAT 401K, vacation and sick time, paid holidays, floating holidays, etc.
Working Situation:
This will be a Hybrid situation with 3 days in the office and 2 days’ work from home.
Relocation:
Relocation is being offered for the right professional if needed.
