Maintenance Mechanic
Local Food manufacturer is an industry leader providing innovative plastic package design concepts to the food service and packaging industries.
Essential Job Functions -
All three shifts available.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on support and production injection mold equipment.
- Setup and operate shop tools, machinery, and welder to repair/fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures.
- Conducts tests to locate mechanical and electrical system malfunction.
- Diagnose and repair basic mechanical problems on plant equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machine and equipment.
- Diagnose systems and/or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services and repairs.
- Patrol and monitor work areas and examine tools and equipment to detect unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and/or policies.
- Install electrical and/or motor control equipment as needed.
- Perform regular PMs on machinery.
- Repairs electrical equipment. Wire equipment per NEC 2010 code.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English (Bilingual Preferred).
- High School diploma or GED equivalent and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
- Strong electrical knowledge, wiring and machine controls required (Electrician Certified preferred)
- Advanced skills required on the following areas: HVAC, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and welding.
- Able to read blue prints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Previous experience working in the plastics manufacturing industry preferred.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and tools, and performing required maintenance duties.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
- Previous experience with extrusion required.
