Project Manager – Publications/Publication Planning- Medical Communications
PUBLICATIONS- PUBLICATION PLANNING – HEALTHCARE COMMUNICATIONS
My client an excellent medical communications company is actively seeking a Project Manager with experience in a Publications /Publication Planning environment. The Project Manager will manage the day-to-day management, trafficking, and updating both staff and clients of the projects progress. This is a full time permanent opportunity, excellent company with room for upward mobility and continued career growth & advancement.
Applicants for this role will have approximately four (4) or more years of project management, client servicing / client management experience within a medical communications agency setting with a firm foundation in publications/publication planning.
Senior Project Management candidates will also be considered, salary & responsibilities are commensurate with experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensure overall client satisfaction with the quality of the program, ensuring that the delivery is in accordance with the strategic direction
- Management of the publication project timeline and maintain clear communication of this timeline to all involved (client, outside contractors, team members, etc.)
- Manage the production and delivery of projects such as posters, e-posters, oral presentations, abstracts for congresses, slide decks for MSLs, product SRLs, publication dashboards, etc.
- Traffic work across multiple departments, to ensure projects are completed on schedule and on budget.
- Update status reports and conduct weekly client meetings.
- Meet with clients to discuss long-term publication plans.
- Assist account manager in supervising & keeping projects within budget.
- Ensure projects meet appropriate completeness and deadlines for legal review.
- Direct interaction with internal departments, authors, & clients.
- Prioritize and monitor the completion of tasks on a daily and weekly basis
- Ensure the highest quality of work is achieved.
- Manage Publication review, publication approval process
- Create & maintain project framework & performance: timelines, deliverables, team assignments, budget estimates.
- Manage timely delivery and successful completion of multiple aspects of assigned project(s).
- Publication submission experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately four (4) or more years of medical education, medical communications experience in a project, program management or account management capacity with diverse project experience
- Prior experience with database management program a plus (i.e., Datavision)
- Publication planning industry experience is REQUIRED
- Strong project management skills, ability to implement complex initiatives/assignment and high attention to detail
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- BA/BS degree desired: (Management, marketing, business, science, or related field)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project)
