Our client an excellent medical communications company is actively seeking to add a Strategic Group Account Director for a newly created full time permanent staff position. This role is specifically focused on promotional medical education/ medical communications/ commercialization. This position will create and drive strategic direction for assigned account(s), ensuring client's brand objectives are met and report directly to executive management. Individuals will have experience working hands on with the client to provide strategic direction (campaign strategies, influences, drives, competitive pressures, brand influences, etc.) and by working with the internal team to achieve tactical execution.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and foster a working relationship with assigned clients to develop an understanding of the client’s market, product profile, therapeutic area, competitors, and trends so this can be applied when interacting with clients and developing business proposals.
- Provide pharmaceutical clients with strategic vision & customized solutions for medical communications (promo meded) programs
- Provide strategic leadership to marketing & medical affairs clients in the development of innovative disease state and branded promotional medical communications programs
- Keep Sr Management aware of all internal and client issues as needed
- Strong strategic planning and tactical execution experience
- Strong knowledge and experience with marketing
- Provide excellent client service experience from a strategic & tactical standpoint.
- Drive the development and organic growth of assigned accounts.
- Meet with and/or speak with assigned clients and adding value added suggestions to client needs
- Experience and understanding of science to convey what client are seeking with to internal departments
- Assist in new business presentations, this is not a sales role
- Ensure delivery of recommendations made from client meetings by working with internal departments.
- Interact and work with all relevant team members to providing information that may assist in day-to-day work.
- Work with the project team to drive day-to-day project management of your assigned projects within an account and be the primary point of contact for the client.
- Execute and follow through on assigned actions from client and executive account member recommendations.
Job requirements:
- Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience within a medical communications agency with a strong foundation in promotional medical education
- Medical Communications industry experience is REQUIRED
- Prior launch experience is desired/a plus
- Any therapeutic experience considered
- BA/BS College Degree
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Staff management/mentoring experience of direct reports
- Excellent marketing, Leadership, Organization, Interpersonal skills
- Team player, as well as individual drive to succeed and work independently
- Strong organizational and projects management skills and attention to detail
- A strong background in excellent client management
- Understanding of financial reporting of assigned projects
- Excellent relationship building, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Project)
