Job Details:
Process Control Engineer
Role:
As a Process Control Engineer, this person will provide process controls engineering support large capital projects, process improvements in existing plants, and general automation engineering support, up front design of automation systems & infrastructure, and continuous improvements, process models, etc. This will interface with EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) as well as R&D to help transition new technologies to plant-scale and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Provide conceptual system up front design for proposed capital projects
- Develop engineering and capital cost estimates for assigned projects
- Provide design documentation sufficient for construction, operations and maintenance
- Develop and implement programming guidelines and standards
- Design, program, modify and maintain PLC and HMI systems
- Manage implementation of upgrades, process improvements and new technology.
- Develop and implement control strategies
- Work with Engineering, Procurement and Construction for plant-scale, commissioning, and plant start- up project teams and contractors to specify and install systems
- Create instrumentation and control system specifications
- Provide consultation to facilities and project management on process controls equipment procurement and applications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 4+ years of progressive professional experience within an Engineering and piping discipline
- Siemens PCS7 is a must and DCS
- 3+ year of prior up-front planning, designing, estimating experience.
Working Conditions:
