An excellent Medical Communications company is actively seeking to add an experienced Associate Medical Director or Medical Director to the scientific team due to continued growth and new business. This position is responsible for QA/QC, directing/leading/mentoring a team in the development of editorial content, and maintaining the scientific integrity of all medical communication deliverables produced for assigned client(s)/account(s). Titles vary company to company within the industry and applicants that are more senior will be considered with compensations commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities & attributes sought:
- Strong experience and foundation within Publications/Publication Planning
- Participate in the development of concepts and planning for assigned client/account projects, working with clients, staff management , QA/QC, interact with KOL’s & faculty
- Provide scientific and strategic insight for content development team
- Provide scientific support towards organizational business development activities
- Creation, execution and ensure compliance of scientifically sound publications & publication planning activities within assigned account(s)
- Understanding of current industry guidelines
- KOL interaction and relationship building
- Mentoring, directing, quality control/quality assurance of junior staff members work
- Provide strategic scientific expertise for organic account growth
- Ensure client projects & tasks are completed on time and within budget
- Initiative to gain necessary background on product and/or therapeutic category
Requirements:
- Qualified individuals will have at least four (4) or more years of agency Medical Communications experience
- Publications- Publication Planning experience is required
- CMPP certification a plus
- Advanced degree in the Life Sciences (MS, PhD, PharmD, MD)
- Experience utilizing online medical resources (Ex; PubMed, etc.)
- Experience mentoring and managing staff/direct reports
- Strong scientific acumen and ability to remain up to date on therapeutic landscape
- A team player with the ability to lead by example with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational and time management
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
