VDC - BIM Coordinator – Lead
The VDC Specialist position supports design and construction activities by preparing CAD and Revit drawings, and maintains 30+ multi-trade projects that utilize full BIM coordination.
- Leverage your Architecture, Engineering and/or construction knowledge with the acquired BIM skills to develop new ideas and processes, to meet the commitments to our internal and external customers.
- Participate in BIM meetings to develop fully coordinated virtual 3D models
- Effectively communicate with project managers and designers during the turnover of plans and specs, the development of the virtual models, field construction, and Asbuilt delivery.
- Become adept at utilizing all software options, and troubleshoot issues when they arise
- Support the mobile technology workflow to by managing documentation across our project teams
- Utilize the plotter and transfer developed drawings to the appropriate medium
- Build and maintain project database spreadsheets that will be used for gathering VDC task-based information
- Degree in architecture, engineering technology or building construction
- Understanding of commercial or industrial building construction
- Drafting software experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar
- Computer experience in Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and web applications
- Ability to read and interpret 2D construction plans and specifications
- Ability to visualize and work within 3D environment
