Business Development Sales Manager

The Business Development Sales Manager will have a proven business development background and experience selling solutions to customers. A solid background in Solutions Based Sales to include Industrial Automation Solutions, Systems Integration, & Control Systems Applications for customer’s controls and information using top names such as Rockwell Automation, DeltaV, Wonderware, GE, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and many more. Prospect, identify, develop and implement your own sales strategy to achieve objectives and goals. Development of new business from assigned account relationship(s), geography, or vertical industry segment including marketing planning, account planning, and project pursuit. Work experience selling in the Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, and Biotech industries is required.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Build upon our base of business and develop new client relationships to grow a portfolio of business by selling all aspects of projects to provide automation and automation-related solutions and services, including Project/Program Management, Consulting/Design Engineering, and other Automation Services.

Identify customer issues and work with the team to develop solutions that address these issues. 

Develop value-based proposals, pursue, and close project orders.

Provide and maintain forecasted bookings and opportunities pipelines with the appropriate services and subcontract/materials mix.

Develop and manage key and strategic partnering relationships with vendors and/or subcontractors as required to serve market needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

 

BS Engineering degree or highly relevant/comparable work-experience or educational background

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industrial automation and controls industry with at least 3 years of direct outside sales experience

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and self-prioritize tasks

Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals

Experience selling PLC, HMI/SCADA, DCS, Historian, and/or software or services solution

The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work. Competence to build and effectively manage relationships at all levels. Excellent presentation and communication skills. The ability to live in and/or around the West Coast – the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern and Southern California.

Performance based compensation package includes salary, commissions, plus other benefits. $150,000.00 base ++ $225,000.00.
