Assistant Plant Controller
Role:
As an Assistant Plant Controller for this manufacturing organization, you will be responsible for the accounting for two manufacturing sites as well as some additional accounting functions within in their shared services center. This would include supporting business partners (manufacturing, operations, supply chain, production, marketing, etc.) to help them better understand the numbers. This would include standard costing, plant accounting, cost center allocation, month end close, gross margins, capex investments, reporting, budgeting, etc. You'll also be a lead and subject matter expert for all things accounting for these facilities as well as manage the data within SAP.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Regional Cost Controller and General Accounting Manager with journal entries, reconciliations, month end close, etc.
- Perform standard costing, actual vs budgeting, cost estimates, reporting, etc.
- Assist in analyzing product costs, inventory, reserves, and manufacturing variances, analyze and monitor standard product costs
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial statement and analysis
- Act as a subject matter expert for all manufacturing and cost accounting data within SAP
- Work with stakeholders to help steer and/or influence businesses decisions by evaluating projects/initiatives based on the numbers
- Track project expenses and perform respective reporting
- Other miscellaneous tasks on ad-hoc basis
- Performs additional duties including special projects on an ad-hoc basis upon request
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- 6+ years of prior accounting within a manufacturing environment or 4+ years within public accounting with a specialization in manufacturing clients.
- Certifications are a plus (CPA, CIA, CMA, etc.)
- Prior experience with SAP is highly preferred.
