Our client an excellent Medical Communications agency is actively in search of a Group Scientific Director (similar titles in other agencies: VP Medical Director, Group Medical Director, Lead Medical Director – titles vary company to company). Individuals will have a firm foundation in promotional medical education, medical communications and/or medical affairs, directing client scientific strategy, and staff mentoring & management with the ability to lead assigned scientific team members.
Position responsibilities & attributes sought:
- This role will provide oversight of all medical aspects for assigned clients including strategy, planning, and implementation on behalf of clients
- Provided strategic and medical support for business development initiatives
- US & global experience a plus
- Strong staff / department management & leadership experience
- Work collaboratively with the scientific affairs team to ensure the creation of high quality, accurate medical/scientific content
- Participate in new business efforts from a scientific standpoint.
- Interaction with faculty, clients and/or other key opinion leaders
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Launch experience desired
Qualifications:
- PhD, PharmD, MD, advanced degree with at least eight (8) or more years of experience within in a medical communications agency focused on promotional medical education or medical affairs
- Experience managing staff/direct reports
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Microsoft proficient (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other industry software)
